It was an international design competition in which we won the first prize in year 1999.

It is a 60 acres site, which does not conform to any regular geometry. The basic planning of the whole campus has to be flexible and adaptable for the future phases of construction, as the needs of the University evolve.

The key words of the concept of design are -

  • Pedestrian movement on central Spine linking Educational, Hostel and Residential hubs
  • Shaded clusters with micro-climate
  • Linkages between buildings at various levels
  • Stepped Terraces
  • Triangulated circulation system for shortest walking distances

The site measures 75 acres. It is narrow and long. The longer side is along the highway. The basic planning of the campus is in response to the vehicular movement on the highway.

  • Artificial lake created at lowest contour for rainwater harvesting

This training institute is to train the teachers in various campuses under the Punjab Technical University.

The site is located in the center of the city. The key words of the concept of design are -

  • Central court created to segregate the hostels and academic areas and to create micro internal environment. A bridge provided at second level to link the two functions
  • The windows in hostels oriented for ideal solar conditions and privacy from academic functions

It is medical college designed for a students' intake of 150 per year.

  • All the components of the medical college like hospital, hostels, residences etc. have to be designed on modular basis for phased construction
  • All the stipulations of the Medical Council of India have to be met for each phase of development
  • External development to be incremental along with phases in order to optimize investment

  • The 'Spirit' exits at site. The body to be created has to be in harmony with the spirit
  • The development to be limited to buildable pockets of land
  • The development to have minimal impact on the existing environment
  • The development to be phased such that the infrastructure costs is incremental commensurate with the phases of construction
  • The buildings and infrastructure to be modulated as per the terrain minimizing cutting and filling

On a site measuring 12 acres, a Training Block, Centrally air-conditioned Production Block (AC class 50,000), Administration, Lecture Block, Canteen, Multipurpose Hall, Students Hostel and Staff Housing concerning a total area of about 25,000 sq.mt. have been completed under Indo-Danish Project. Buildings costing about Rs.100.00 million were completed in 1993.






On a site measuring 12 acres, a Training Block, Centrally air-conditioned Production Block (AC class 50,000), Administration, Lecture Block, Canteen and Multipurpose Hall concerning a total area of about 20,000 sq.mt. have been completed under Indo-Danish Project. Buildings costing about Rs. 80.00 million were completed in 1996.






The site measures 41.28 acres and rectangle in shape.
